Dr. Kanning began his academic journey at William Jewell College in Liberty, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations. Following his passion for dentistry, he furthered his education at the University of Alabama School of Dentistry.
Graduating with honors in 1998, Dr. Kanning continued to excel by completing his Advanced Education in General Dentistry (A.E.G.D.) at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia. His dedication to orthodontics was further honed during a comprehensive residency at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, where he specialized in orthodontics and facial orthopedics, obtaining his master’s degree in orthodontics.
Throughout his career, Dr. Kanning's contributions to the field have been significant, marked by his active involvement in the community and in organized dentistry.
He has held esteemed positions such as Vice-President of the Missouri Society of Orthodontists, President of the Greater Kansas City Society of Orthodontists, and President of the University Dental Study Club, showcasing his commitment to excellence and leadership in orthodontics.
